Day 79: A Drone Over the Gardens

How to study this lesson 3 steps
- Read the situation under the title. It says who is talking and how they know each other, which decides how politely they speak.
- Read the dialogue line by line with its translation, until every line makes sense. Point at (or tap) a German word to see what it means.
- Spend at least 30 minutes listening to native German, for example from the Resources page. It doesn't matter if you don't understand it yet.

It must belong to the boy across the road. Apparently he got one for his birthday.

Der ist doch auf Klassenfahrt. Und so eine Drohnenkamera soll sogar Gesichter erkennen können.
But he's away on a school trip. And apparently a drone camera like that can even recognise faces.

Das dürfte eigentlich verboten sein. Über fremden Gärten darf man nicht einfach filmen.
Strictly speaking, that's probably not allowed. You can't just film over other people's gardens.

Hang on, didn't the landlord say he was sending a surveyor for the roofs?

Stimmt, das muss der Gutachter sein. Bevor die Dachdecker kommen, prüft er jedes Dach von oben.
That's right, it must be the surveyor. He's checking every roof from above before the roofers come.

Then he'll probably have seen you out with the tomatoes in your dressing gown this morning, too.
