Day 195: Grandmother's Spinning Wheel for the Museum

In a village near Cloppenburg, Rasmus (A), a young volunteer from the local history society, visits Anneliese Tebbe (B), an older woman who wants to give her grandmother's spinning wheel to the village museum.

How to study this lesson 3 steps

    Yes, come in! It was made around 1900 for my grandmother's wedding.

    Wunderschön! Wegen des Alters wird es bei uns aber nur ausgestellt, nicht mehr benutzt.

    It's beautiful! Because of its age, though, we'll only put it on display, we won't use it any more.

    Schade. Trotz meiner achtzig Jahre spinne ich jeden Winter noch Wolle darauf.

    That's a shame. I still spin wool on it every winter, even at eighty.
