   Stell dir vor, Heidrun, bei dir tropft der Wasserhahn. Einmal aufs Tablet getippt, und am nächsten Tag bekommst du einen Handwerker nach Hause geschickt.

   Imagine, Heidrun, your tap is dripping. One tap on the tablet, and the next day you get a tradesman sent round to your house.

   Vorstellen kann ich mir viel, Frau Gründerin. Was verdient ihr daran, und wer haftet, wenn mir dein Handwerker das Bad unter Wasser setzt?

   I can imagine all sorts, Madam Founder. What do you make on it, and who's liable if your tradesman floods my bathroom?

   Wir bekommen fünfzehn Prozent Provision, und haften muss der Betrieb. Unser Clou: Die Kunden bekommen den Kostenvoranschlag vorher am Telefon erklärt, ohne Fachchinesisch.

   We get fifteen per cent commission, and the firm is liable. The clever part: customers get the quote explained to them over the phone beforehand, without any jargon.

   Sympathisch, wenngleich ich bezweifle, dass sich in Stuttgart noch ein Handwerker für einen tropfenden Hahn ins Auto setzt. Die haben Wartelisten bis Ostern.

   Nice idea, although I doubt there's a tradesman left in Stuttgart who'll get in his van for a dripping tap. They've got waiting lists till Easter.

   Deshalb bündeln wir die Kleinaufträge: drei Wasserhähne im selben Viertel an einem Vormittag, dann rechnet sich die Anfahrt wieder.

   That's why we bundle the small jobs: three taps in the same neighbourhood in one morning, and then the journey pays for itself again.

   That's just it. I was around for your cargo bike hire too: three bikes without motors, in a city that sits in a bowl of steep hills.

   That was before e-bikes, and this time I tested first: the pilot's been running in Vaihingen since March, with sixty-two happy customers.

    Then I'll test it myself first: for a month I get sent every tradesman I need, and if I'm happy, I'll transfer the money.

    Mit dem tropfenden Wasserhahn im Gästebad, den Stefan seit drei Jahren reparieren will. Schlägt dein Handwerker meinen Sohn, ist das Geld so gut wie überwiesen, wobei die Messlatte zugegebenermaßen niedrig liegt.

    With the dripping tap in the guest bathroom that Stefan's been meaning to fix for three years. If your tradesman beats my son, the money's as good as transferred, though admittedly the bar is set rather low.
