Day 98: The Waiter's Flat Is Going

In a café in Leipzig-Connewitz, Mira (A), who is looking for a flat, speaks to the waiter, Piotr (B), after overhearing that he is moving to Dresden.

How to study this lesson 3 steps

    Entschuldigung, habe ich richtig gehört, dass Sie nach Dresden ziehen?

    Excuse me, did I hear right that you're moving to Dresden?

    Ja, Ende November ziehe ich aus. Suchen Sie etwa eine Wohnung?

    Yes, I'm moving out at the end of November. Are you looking for a flat, by any chance?

    Seit einem halben Jahr. Was zahlen Sie denn, wenn ich fragen darf?

    For six months now. What do you pay, if you don't mind me asking?

  4. B

    580 Euro warm für zwei Zimmer. Der Vermieter sagt, die Miete bleibe auch für den Nachmieter gleich.

    580 euros including heating for two rooms. The landlord says the rent will stay the same for the next tenant too.

    Da dürften sich ja jede Menge Bewerber melden. Könnten Sie ihm schon vor der Besichtigung meine Nummer geben?

    Then there'll probably be loads of applicants. Could you give him my number before the viewing?

    Er sagt zwar, er wolle niemanden bevorzugen. Aber ich kann ja erwähnen, dass Sie Stammkundin sind.

    He does say he doesn't want to favour anyone. But I could always mention that you're a regular.

    Na, ab heute auf jeden Fall. Noch einen Cappuccino, bitte!

    Well, from today I certainly am. Another cappuccino, please!
