Day 48: The Last Ferry to Hiddensee

In a harbour restaurant in Schaprode on Rügen, Nils (A) and his girlfriend Maren (B) check the ferry times, while the owner, Björn (C), clears the next table.

    Mist, die letzte Fähre nach Hiddensee ist weg. Und unser Hotel ist drüben!

    Blast, the last ferry to Hiddensee has gone. And our hotel's over there!

    Und das, obwohl wir extra früh losgefahren sind! Wo sollen wir denn jetzt übernachten?

    And we even set off extra early! So where are we supposed to spend the night now?

    Verzeihung, ich hab zufällig mitgehört. Sie wollen heute noch nach Hiddensee?

    Sorry, I couldn't help overhearing. You want to get to Hiddensee tonight?

    Eigentlich schon. Unser Zug hatte Verspätung, sodass wir nur noch den letzten Bus erwischt haben.

    That was the plan. Our train was late, so we only just made the last bus.

    Mein Bruder hat ein Wassertaxi. Ich ruf ihn mal an, der schuldet mir noch einen Gefallen.

    My brother has a water taxi. I'll give him a ring, he still owes me a favour.

    Das wäre unsere Rettung! Was kostet uns der Spaß denn ungefähr?

    That would be a lifesaver! Roughly what will that set us back?

  7. C

    Das machen Sie mit ihm aus. Aber essen Sie erst in Ruhe auf, er braucht sowieso zwanzig Minuten.

    You can sort that out with him. But finish your meal in peace first, he'll need twenty minutes anyway.
