Day 106: A Taxi Ride After Parents' Evening
In a taxi in Stuttgart, Robert (A), a father on his way home from a parents' evening at his son's grammar school, talks to his driver, Rolf (B).
How to study this lesson 3 steps
- Read the situation under the title. It says who is talking and how they know each other, which decides how politely they speak.
- Read the dialogue line by line with its translation, until every line makes sense. Point at (or tap) a German word to see what it means.

Machbar schon. Und ein Abschluss lässt sich jederzeit nachholen, das Selbstvertrauen eines Zehnjährigen ist dagegen schnell kaputt.
It was doable. And you can make up a qualification at any time, whereas a ten-year-old's self-confidence is easily broken.
