Day 172: Two Costumes in Three Days

In Koblenz, three days before the Rosenmontag parade, Yasemin (A) asks her older sister Elif (B), who can sew, for a favour.

How to study this lesson 3 steps

    Elif, could you sew us two penguin costumes by Monday? You're so good at it.

    Zwei Kostüme in drei Tagen? Ich glaube nicht, dass meine alte Nähmaschine das schafft.

    Two costumes in three days? I don't think my old sewing machine can manage that.

    Ach bitte! Den schwarzen Stoff hab ich sogar schon gekauft.

    Oh, please! I've even bought the black fabric already.

    Nee, das wird nichts. Aber ich könnte dir mein altes Marienkäferkostüm leihen.

    No, that's not going to happen. But I could lend you my old ladybird costume.

    Und was ziehst du dann an?

    And what are you going to wear, then?

  6. B

    Na, mein Pinguinkostüm! Vor drei Jahren fandest du ja noch, dass es total peinlich aussieht.

    My penguin costume, of course! Three years ago you still thought it looked really embarrassing.
