Day 128: Water Instead of an Energy Drink

At a kiosk in Bochum, the owner, Dieter (A), serves Emre (B), a boy on his way home from football training.

How to study this lesson 3 steps
  1. Read the situation under the title. It says who is talking and how they know each other, which decides how politely they speak.
  2. Read the dialogue line by line with its translation, until every line makes sense. Point at (or tap) a German word to see what it means.

    I don't sell that to children, because of all the sugar.

    Aber ich habe so einen Durst! Wir haben trotz der Hitze zwei Stunden gespielt.

    But I'm so thirsty! We played for two hours despite the heat.

    Dann nimm statt der Dose lieber ein kaltes Wasser. Das geht aufs Haus.

    Then have a cold water instead of the can. It's on the house.

    Danke! Und falls ich morgen wieder Durst habe, geht das auch aufs Haus?

    Thanks! And if I'm thirsty again tomorrow, is that on the house too?
