   Guten Morgen zusammen. Laut Mitarbeiterbefragung ist die Stimmung ausbaufähig, deshalb starten wir die Wohlfühlinitiative: montags ein Obstkorb, und wer einen Schadensfall abschließt, schlägt den Gong.

   Good morning, everyone. According to the staff survey, morale has room for improvement, so we're launching the feel-good initiative: a fruit bowl on Mondays, and whoever closes a claim strikes the gong.

   Wunderbar, Herr Schulze Althoff, zumal Obst bekanntlich gegen alles hilft außer Überlastung. Wenn ich wählen dürfte, empföhle ich Bananen: Die kann man auch mit Headset essen.

   Wonderful, Mr Schulze Althoff, all the more since fruit is well known to help against everything except overwork. If I had the choice, I'd recommend bananas: you can eat those with a headset on.

   Und der Gong setzt ein Zeichen, wenngleich ich mir um Zeynep Sorgen mache. Sollte sie ihre vierhundert offenen Fälle je abschließen, stünde sie bis Weihnachten am Gong.

   And the gong sends a signal, although I'm worried about Zeynep. If she ever closed her four hundred open claims, she'd be standing at the gong until Christmas.

   Ich höre da Skepsis heraus, Herr Tewes. Dabei hat eine Unternehmensberatung aus Düsseldorf das Konzept eigens für uns entwickelt.

   I detect some scepticism there, Mr Tewes. And yet a consultancy from Düsseldorf developed the concept specially for us.

   Skepsis? Keineswegs. Sofern die Beratung auch meine vierhundert Fälle übernimmt, schlage ich den Gong mit Begeisterung, und du doch auch, Robin, oder?

   Scepticism? Not in the least. Provided the consultants take over my four hundred claims as well, I'll strike the gong with enthusiasm, and so will you, Robin, won't you?

   Mit Hingabe. Und falls noch Budget übrig ist, schlage ich einen Kicker vor, wohingegen eine zusätzliche Stelle natürlich viel zu teuer wäre.

   With devotion. And if there's any budget left, I suggest a table football table, whereas an extra member of staff would of course be far too expensive.

   Ein Gruppenchat? Also, selbst wenn es einen gäbe, wäre der rein privat, und aus der Abteilungsleitung läse da garantiert niemand mit.

   A group chat? Well, even if there were one, it would be purely private, and nobody from management would be reading along, that's for sure.

   Doch, einer schon, seit Freitag: Herr Tewes hat versehentlich mich hinzugefügt, statt Frau Schulze Wenning aus der Poststelle. Bei so vielen Schulzes im Münsterland passiert das schon mal.

   Oh, one person is, since Friday: Mr Tewes added me by mistake instead of Mrs Schulze Wenning from the post room. With so many Schulzes in the Münsterland, these things happen.

    Zeynep, ich hole schon mal einen Karton für meinen Schreibtisch. Obschon es nicht danach aussieht, Herr Schulze Althoff: Wir schätzen Sie, nur den Obstkorb nicht.

    Zeynep, I'll go and get a box for my desk. Although it may not look like it, Mr Schulze Althoff: we do think highly of you, just not of the fruit bowl.

    Kein Karton nötig, Herr Tewes: Der Gong stammt aus Ihrem Chat, Sie haben ihn prophezeit, und ich wollte Sie nicht enttäuschen. Ab heute heiße ich dort übrigens „Höhere Gewalt (liest mit)“.

    No box needed, Mr Tewes: the gong came from your chat, you predicted it, and I didn't want to disappoint you. By the way, as of today my name in there is 'Act of God (reading along)'.
