Day 9: An ETF for a Newborn

At a Sparkasse branch in Hannover, Nadine (A), who has just had a baby girl, wants to start a monthly savings plan with the help of Merle (B), a young bank adviser.

How to study this lesson 3 steps
  1. Read the situation under the title. It says who is talking and how they know each other, which decides how politely they speak.
  2. Read the dialogue line by line with its translation, until every line makes sense. Point at (or tap) a German word to see what it means.

    I'd like to invest 50 euros a month for my newborn daughter until she's eighteen.

    An ETF tracks a whole stock index: it gives you a stake in hundreds of companies in one go.
