Day 73: A Nurse From Hanoi
At a bus stop outside a care home in Bad Kissingen, Heiko (A), who has just visited his father, talks to a young nursing trainee (B) on his way home from a shift.
How to study this lesson 3 steps
- Read the situation under the title. It says who is talking and how they know each other, which decides how politely they speak.
- Read the dialogue line by line with its translation, until every line makes sense. Point at (or tap) a German word to see what it means.

The skills shortage brought me here from Hanoi. When I got to Bad Kissingen, I could hardly understand a word of Franconian, despite my B2 German certificate.
