Day 62: Ignore the One-Star Review
Outside a cinema in Oberhausen, classmates Joris (A) and Alicia (B) read a savage online review of the superhero film they have tickets for.
How to study this lesson 3 steps
- Read the situation under the title. It says who is talking and how they know each other, which decides how politely they speak.
- Read the dialogue line by line with its translation, until every line makes sense. Point at (or tap) a German word to see what it means.
- Spend at least 30 minutes listening to native German, for example from the Resources page. It doesn't matter if you don't understand it yet.

Still, the man's a critic, so he probably knows more about it than we do. Maybe we'd better sell our tickets.

Bei solchen Filmen kommt nach dem Abspann doch immer noch eine Szene. Der kann gar nicht bis zum Schluss geblieben sein.
With films like this there's always another scene after the credits. He can't have stayed until the end.
