   Ms Wiegand, there's a big question mark from you on page seven. Is the bit about the rents that bad?

   Schlimm ist sie nicht, nur unbelegt: Die Mieten in Hörde sollen sich seit der Flutung des Phoenix-Sees verdoppelt haben, aber laut wem?

   It's not bad, just unsupported: rents in Hörde are supposed to have doubled since the Phoenix-See was flooded, but says who?

   Laut einem Artikel in der Lokalzeitung, der wiederum einen Makler zitiert. Die Originalquelle habe ich ehrlich gesagt nicht gefunden.

   An article in the local paper, which in turn quotes an estate agent. To be honest, I couldn't find the original source.

   Der Makler wird die Angebotsmieten der Neubauten am Seeufer mit den Bestandsmieten im alten Hörde verglichen haben. Belastbar ist die Zahl also kaum.

   The agent will have compared the asking rents for the new builds by the lake with what sitting tenants pay in old Hörde. So the figure hardly holds water.

   Soll ich den Satz also lieber streichen? Dabei ist die Verdrängung alteingesessener Mieter doch der Kern meiner These.

   So should I just cut the sentence? And yet the displacement of long-standing tenants is the heart of my argument.

   By all means, but one grandma is an anecdote, not a sample. By the deadline, you'll hopefully have gathered another dozen voices.
